When you need a letter to the society
- Repainting your flat
- Interior work such as a modular kitchen, wardrobes or a false ceiling
- Bathroom or kitchen renovation, tile replacement or plumbing changes
- Any work that uses the lift for material, creates noise or debris, or needs workers on the premises for several days

Tips so your permission comes through quickly
- Submit the letter at least a few days before work starts and keep a signed or stamped copy.
- Ask in advance about the deposit, lift-usage charges and working hours. Many Pune and PCMC societies charge a refundable deposit during interior work.
- Tell your immediate neighbours, especially before noisy work.
